Benefit Cosmetics ¦The Rich is Back¦ Review

Hey everyone hope your having a good day!
I purchased the Benefit cosmetics the rich is back palette a while ago and now I am finally happy to be posting my thoughts on the palette, and hopefully shortly after a tutorial which you can find by clicking here

Benefit collaborated with British designer fashion designer Matthew Williamson for this limited edition eye palette. Quoted on the back Matthew Williamson states "This is high-octane makeup for dressing up to look fabulous & dance the night away" The pack also says that it will flash you back to the glamorous days of disco with rich, seductive shades inspired Matthew Williamson's vibrant prints. Its modern decadence.

I love the packaging for a start, Its so vibrant and fun!

So inside the pack as you open it their is a tips and tricks leaflet.

Their are 4 tips, from eyes how to use the eye shadow, in what order.

Tip 2 is mascara, tip 3 cheeks and tip 4 lips!

Then we go inside the pack, their is a clear sheet with all the names of the products etc.
But inside it contacts 4 eye shadows, a they're Real! mascara, inferno lip gloss and blusher and brush

The inner tray does lift out as well so the box itself can we used again once the you have used to products up.

The eye shadows are called.
(top L-R Get down brown, Feel so teal bottom L-R solid gold and feel so teal)

Here are the shadows swatches on my arm, they are amazingly pigmented, and highly shimmery, the white highlight colour is quite sheer. however as a highlight it is perfect in my opinion.

Here is a swatch of the blush called gimme fever, and the lipgloss on the right, as you can see the blush is quite sheer again. It's peachy golden in shade with some shimmer. I wouldn't rely on the blush given in the pack as the only product to use on it own. I would get another blush product to add to your cheeks too.
The lip gloss is not sticky like some lip glosses you can get! Which I love as lip gloss is something I am trying to re-love, like I once did in my school hay days! The colour is build able so you can go for a sheer red tint to the lips of build it up with more product.

The mascara is amazing, it has been raved about by my beauty bloggers. This was the first time I have tried the product and I love it. I think I will certainly be getting the full size product! It gives the eyes a very polished finished look, with the volume the mascara gives the lashes! Some mascara's can be very heavy on the lashes if built up a lot however with this one I don't find it pulls my lashes down at all.

Here's the look I created with the palette.

I hope you guys have enjoyed this blog. I do like the palette, and I certainly think this will be my next look for "date night" :) Let me know if you guys have used this palette.

MUA ¦ New Blusher's ¦ Review

Today's review for MUA cosmetics is on their new blusher's not just the new shades but the new packaging!

Their are 6 new shades to the collection, shade names are: Marshmallow (Pink), Bon Bon (Apricot), Lolly (Soft Orange), Cupcake (Soft Peach), Candyfloss (Pink Shimmer) & Bubblegum (Coral Rose Pink).

I have got 4 of the new blushers, I picked, marshmellow, cupcake, candyfloss and lolly.

Here are some swatches of the colours, not blended

(L-R) Cupcake, Lolly, Candyfloss and Marshmallow

and this next pictures is the blushes blended out
again as above.

The packaging is a lot nicer than the previous more chunky packaging, it's a lot slimmer, with a nice clip to close securely. Their is not less product than the old blusher, its still the 2.4g. The lid is transparent as before, so you can easily see the shades you have. Even better though the shades now have names not numbers! I have to say I happen to think the shade names are actually really cute and well suited.

The shades are highly pigmented again, so again no let down their! Each of the shades is super soft and velvety. They all blend amazingly well and a little goes a long way. And again for £1.00 per item you really can't complain?! Whats not to love.

Here is how I would describe each of the colours I have chosen;

Cupcake I would describe this shade as having a slight shimmer to it. It is a very neutral colour, with peachy/flesh under tones.

so the picture doesn't show the colour very well at all.

Lolly is again slightly shimmery. It is a beautiful coral tone, I don't really want to say orange as I picture orange and I think of something that's been tango'd! If I'd have brought it sooner it would have certainly been a gorgeous summer blush.

Candyfloss again a shimmery blush, i'd say a lot more shimmery than the other 2 blushes I have. But it is a lovely subtle tone of pinky/purple almost, it is perfect for the up coming autumn/fall. This product really does need the smallest amount of product and when blended leaves a gorgeous warming colour to the apples of the cheeks.

and finally marshmallow, this is the only matte shade I have picked up, it is a bright neon pink, which can look slightly over whelming and "wow" on the shelf. But again when blended it doesn't look to strong at all. I have pale skin and I can pull it off!!

Overall I love these blushes, they are definitely my favorite blush products at the moment, they have taken place over my rimmel blushes.

I will certainly be purchasing the rest of these blushes!!

What are your thoughts on these products??

MUA ¦ Undressed Eyeshadow Palette ¦ Review

The MUA Undressed palette is an easy to wear neutrals palette, which for me is just perfect. However it has a wider variety of colours ranging from beautiful pale pinks to metallic navy along with a shimmering gold, I could almost compare this palette to the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette.

The palette consists of 12 shades. The price of the palette is £4.00, which is amazingly cheap and affordable. The pigmentation of the shimmers is just wonderful, even the gold tone is just gorgeous. Unfortunately the matte colours are not overly pigmented, and need a bit of work to build up the colour.  But overall all the eye shadows are extremely smooth and velvety soft!

Here are some swatches:

above swatches are the top row of the palette as seen left to right

above is the lower row of the palette again as seen left to right

Staying power of the eye shadow isn't amazing, certainly not for someone who is very busy and active through out the day, or in a hot climate. However with a good base/primer I imagine these eye shadows would last all day!!

Overall I love this palette, you can't beat the price at £4.00, the colour selection is great, you can go from a calm and sophisticated day look, to a sultry night time makeup! and it's small and portable, certainly travel friendly!!

What did you guys think of this palette, let me know :)

No7 Melting Gel Cleanser ¦ Review ¦

For a while now I have been trying to look for some new products for my skincare routine, as I have found my skin seems to have got to used to the products I am using! As you will all know from my previous skincare routine blog that I was using all Clarins products and as much as I still love the moisturizer I think it will be replaced soon by something else, however the cleanser I was using just wasn't cleansing my face as well at all, So I have been on the look out for something new. and something new and different certainly caught my eye!!

I knew I wanted to try not to go too high end this time, so I made sure I only shopped on the high street /drugstores.

When in Boots the other day something caught my eye, and it was the No7 Melting Gel Cleanser

Straight away the product name Gel cleanser, caught my eye! I have dry skin, with some hormonal breakouts but otherwise fairly normal. So I didn't want the dry to very dry cleansing milk.

The packaging is quite basic yet it looks sophisticated. On the front the bottle states "1 simple step to perfectly clean, supple skin. Hypo-allergenic.

On the back; "created to help your dry skin behave like normal skin and provide tailored skin nutrition for healthy looking, bright and beautiful skin.

A refreshing gel that transforms into an oil as you massage into your skin, cleverly dissolving make-up and impurities to help keep skin looking clear and healthy. It then transform into a milk as you rinse clean leaving no residue just perfectly clean, supple skin."

So lets stop their for a second, I have to say when I first read the packaging I was skeptical of whether I would like it, but I thought I would give it ago, as I always stay in my safety net of going for the same thing all the time, which for me is cleansing milk. I must say I LOVE this product.

(starts as a gel)

I have used it both with a damp face and a dry face, and I feel it really works into the skin without being damp first. The way it turns from a gel to an oil is amazing on my skin! It really does cleanse the face amazingly - make-up or not! And then when rinsed it becomes slightly like a milk.

(becomes an oil after been rubbed into the face)

(when damp turns to a milk)

Afterwords my skin is left feeling amazing, clean, bright and super hydrated.

It is slightly perfumed, but it isn't over powering, could cause problems for people with slightly sensitive skin.

I have been using this little over a week and I have already noticed that the breakout I was suffering from seems to have cleared up quite a lot, so it is obviously cleaning my face a lot better!

What else does the bottle state;
"Enriched with No7's unique multivitamin and mineral blend to help hydrate and energise skin plus rosehip oil to help lock in moisture."

For £9.00 you can't really complain either! What a bargain!?

Have you tried this cleanser what are your thoughts??
